Consistent Development is My Path

The skills and expertise I have developed over the last 15 years in careers as both a financial analyst and naval officer, as well as my educational background and lifestyle position me to help small business owners understand financial health, develop strategies for growth, and communicate with target audiences.

My career as a financial analyst sharpened my business acumen, technical skill set, and ability to think with clarity. I developed the ability to build forecasts and create insightful reports focused on balance sheet and income statement performance. I created detailed analyses to illuminate trends and business drivers, streamline systems and processes to enhance efficiency, and provided insights that guided decisions.

At 22 years old, I was commissioned as a Supply Officer in the US Navy–I carry that sense of discipline and duty with me to this day. While ashore, I led teams of analysts, managed billion-dollar budgets, and coordinated financial projects. While deployed aboard ships, I served as the primary advisor to the commanding officer for logistical and financial readiness and commanded bridge and intelligence teams.

My education cultivated an ability to understand and improve systems and processes. At Cornell University’s two-year, in-person MBA program, I assisted teaching strategy, studied sustainability and entrepreneurship, and won a leadership case competition. While earning my BA in Biology at Hobart College I served as a communications mentor, was published as a coauthor in a scientific journal, and spent a semester on exchange in the United Kingdom.

My lifestyle is guided by introspection, prioritization, and sound decisions—I live grounded and unencumbered by traditional and social media. Five years ago, by tracking my social media usage, I recognized the adverse impact on my quality of life and reclaimed time on my journey toward health and happiness. I dedicated that time to my relationship with my son, which has proven a great source of growth, patience, humility, and compassion. I value genuine connection through interpersonal relationships, which are the foundation of my work—quality time with people in real life.

I am passionate about quality of life. Outside of work, I am an advanced skier, an avid cyclist, and health and fitness enthusiast. I love to cook, travel, shoot photographs, ride motorcycles, garden, and play pickleball. I find fulfillment while focused on the present moment through pursuit of my hobbies and interests. The time to create an abundant life is always now–let’s work together to achieve yours.

To Consult is to Connect People with Paths Through Obstacles

Connecting with people to produce solutions is my favorite creative endeavor—the direct impact on people, businesses, and communities is central to value creation.

Small business owners forge their own path and inspire others. I make quality consulting services available to small business owners—from a first-time sole proprietor to a multi-generation, family-owned business, each company has unique and complex needs. However, the principles of strategy and financial planning are consistent—identify a defensible business model, compete in the marketplace, and grow.

Businesses succeed when they strive to grow. Without growth, we stagnate and lose competitive advantage. As a veteran-owned consulting firm, I not only bring discipline and expertise, but also a personal touch and a wealth of experience to guide your business towards its goals. No matter the size of your business you will receive one-on-one time with me to process complex business problems and execute solutions.

Communities are built with entrepreneurial spirit and fulfillment of dreams. I advocate for the health of small businesses and entrepreneurial values because the freedom of being self-employed connects business owners with people in their communities. To build communities we must grow and break free of limiting beliefs—together we lean into obstacles and build the confidence to handle anything in our way.
